Louis Gervais, Chef/Owner

Louis was born in Montreal where he lived for the first 25 years of his life. After completing the Culinary Arts program at the Institute of Hotel & Tourism, he spent several years working with some of Montreal’s top chefs before moving to the West Coast in 1982. Louis then devoted his culinary talents and expertise to many of Vancouver’s finest restaurants and hotels, most recently at the Sutton Place Hotel.

As Executive Chef of this five-diamond property, Louis was responsible for creating and developing menu items and managing production for the hotels two dining rooms, its popular Gerard Bar, all banquets and outside catering. His talent for designing innovative menus according to seasonal changes and local food trends made the hotel’s dining rooms a favorite among locals and tourists alike. Louis was instrumental in the Sutton Place achieving and maintaining its five-diamond status for over a decade.

Launched in 1998, Louis Gervais Fine Foods & Catering Ltd. is the realization of Louis’ long-term goal to own and operate his own catering business. His dynamic personality, passion for fine cuisine, and high standards are evident in every aspect of his business.

Heather Wright, Sales & Event Manager

After completing the Culinary Arts program at Vancouver Community College, Heather moved to Toronto to continue her education at George Brown College, Canada’s most recognized leader in hospitality training, where she obtained a diploma in Food and Beverage Management. Upon her return to Vancouver, Heather rounded out her education by completing the sommelier diploma program through the International Sommelier Guild.

Heather has since dedicated her varied talents and expertise to many of Vancouver’s most popular restaurants, most recently with the Boathouse Restaurant chain and Steamworks restaurant in Gastown. Her talent for understanding and fulfilling her guests’ needs gracefully made her a well-known host in dining rooms across the Lower Mainland and contributed to substantial growth for all the restaurants she has been involved with.

Since joining Louis Gervais Fine Foods & Catering in 2008, Heather has dedicated herself to creating one-of-a-kind experiences for our clients. Heather’s passion for food and wine and strict attention to each minute detail is evident in every event she caters.

Louis Gervais Fine Foods is a member of the North Vancouver Chamber of Commerce and is proud to be involved and support many community events throughout the North Shore.
